Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking a highly qualified and self-motivated Senior Systems Administrator (Systems Administration, Associate) to support the Department of Defense (DoD) National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC). This facility supports the mission to provide realistic cybersecurity environments for test and evaluation of major DoD acquisition programs and to enable the conduct of realistic training and certification events for the DoD Cyber Mission Force. The NCRC facility may also support non-DoD customers such as Department of Homeland Security (DHS), industry, academia, and international partners. The successful candidate will serve at the Patuxent Naval Air Station, MD site.

This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Deploy, monitor, and configure network infrastructure & virtual server environments (cisco routers, switches, firewalls, & VPN's, servers, & VMware) for the range
  • Configure, deploy, and integrate custom virtualized environments for training or for customers requesting vulnerability assessments
  • Perform system administration activities to include account hardware, operating system, and software management
  • Troubleshoot, install, implement, and administer network systems
  • Ensure planned testing activities are executed and configure network equipment
  • Install and configure Linux and Windows based operating systems and software in both physical and virtual environments
  • Create, update, and maintain technical documentation
  • Operation and management of Virtual Machine environments including troubleshooting
  • Assist with creating and maintaining documentation to support the testing, installation and operations of all assigned physical and virtual equipment
  • Restore and/or reproduce current systems, applications, and data in accordance with directives and requirements for data and disaster recovery

Travel

10% - 15% to other sites, as needed

Required Qualifications
  • 7 years of experience supporting virtualization environments such as VMWare, vCenter, VirtualBox, Proxmox, Nutanix
  • Experience with remote deployment and configuration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Visio
  • Strong knowledge of system administration processes, procedures, and principles
  • In-depth knowledge of computer systems and the Windows 2012 and newer operating systems, including installation and required maintenance
  • Experience with deploying and maintaining systems such as DNS, email servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and file share
  • Record of success in contributing to the completion of programs and projects; ability to obtain results and make key recommendations
  • Ability to provide high level summary of results and draw conclusions based on interpretation of data
  • Must be able to interact with peers, management, and senior engineers in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive customer experience and atmosphere in the workplace

Desired Qualifications
  • Degree in science and technology related disciplines such as Computer Engineering, System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mathematics or equivalent
  • Experience with deploying and maintaining Linux systems
  • Possess a Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification
  • Strong ability to use software to develop drawings and diagrams such as network diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, data flow diagrams
  • Knowledge of DoD Information Assurance practices, including Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education and/or advanced certification.

Clearance

All applicants for this position must hold a current Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI eligibility; please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.

For this position, the projected compensation range is $90,000 - $162,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package.
