Job Description:

Semper Valens Solutions is looking for a Mechanic (General/Generator) who can work in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment to support our customer. The Mechanic will perform operational checks, induction and return to service inspections, troubleshoot faults, remove, and replace components, service generators, remove and replace fluids, adjust and alignments, use hand tools and electronic measuring devices such as AC/DC voltmeters and ohms meters. Mechanic supporting PM FPS (Product Manager, Force Protection Systems) customer in the Horn of Africa.

Position Qualifications/Responsibilities:

• Perform operational checks, induction and return to service inspections, troubleshoot faults, remove, and replace components, service generators, remove and replace fluids, adjust and alignments, use hand tools and electronic measuring devices such as AC/DC voltmeters and, ohms meters


• Must be able to read, understand, and follow technical manuals, engineering documents, schematic diagrams, safety bulletins, and news flashes; be able to input data into databases and be able to retrieve data to perform maintenance or provide reports as requested


• Skilled generator mechanic with knowledge of diesel engines with the ability to perform engine repairs


• Electrical troubleshooting and relay logic


• Knowledge of AC/DC power


• Able to test current, ohms, and voltage in a safe manner


• Repair and /or replace damaged parts on generators


• Service generators with oil changes


• Updates applicable maintenance databases, and informs Lead of job status and any issues encountered


• Tracks and updates work orders to include the replacement of parts' component serial numbers removed and replaced


• May travel via military/commercial conveyances to outlying areas


• Must have the ability to generate/produce data and reports


• Interact and professionally exhibit customer service skills and be able to present a positive approach with customers and peers


• Experience utilizing COLTS (or similar such as RCLS) and operating within the GCSS-A environment


• Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel


• Import/Export (ITAR/EXIM) compliance experience


• Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment


• Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong customer service


• Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention to detail


• Other duties as assigned by IBD-SS leadership

Position Requirements:

• 7 years of relevant experience; AA/AS or BA/BS may be substituted for years of experience


• Must possess an active U.S. Secret clearance, valid driver's license, and current U.S. passport (minimum 2 years validity) and must have at least 4 consecutive blank pages for country visas


• Must be willing to support an Extended Work Week or work week assigned to PDY or TDY work week based on mission requirements including travel within SWA


• Must be capable of meeting standards of fitness for deployment to the SWA of Operations and be able to withstand physical demands of seasonal hot or cold temperatures and willing to live and operate in an austere environment with the ability to meeting physical demands of the position that can included but not limited to: ability to lift 50 lbs. climb ladders, kneel, squat, stand, bending, carrying, climbing, hearing extreme noise levels, and other physical requirements to meet the position requirements


• Must be wiling and able to travel to outlying areas


• Applicable PPE must be worn in accordance with contract requirements


• On Customer Site


• Relevant and recent experience supporting Force Protection systems is highly desirable
