Job Title: Satellite Communication Technician
Location: Guam
Job Responsibilities
The Satellite Communications Technician will provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of a teleport site .
- Knowledge of strategic SATCOM terminals across C, Ku, X, and Ka bands.
- Familiarity with test equipment used for SATCOM terminal operation.
- Understanding of strategic UHF systems.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance (Interim Secret Clearance is acceptable).
- Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required .
- Must possess three (3) years of experience in communications software, hardware or networks.
- Specific experience required includes protocol analysis, knowledge of OSI protocol (TCP/IP, X.25.X 400, and X.500) .
- Experience with ATM, frame, relay h bridges, routers, gateways, FDDI, and UNIX operating systems is required .
- Able to travel to support mission up to 10%.
Desired Qualification
- CNE or ECNE experience is desired, as well as supervising the operation and maintenance of communication network systems, mainframe, mini or client/server based.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering , OR an Associate's degree plus seven (7) years of recent specialized experience , OR eleven (11) total years of recent specialized experience .
