Job Summary



Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic individual to serve as a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) - Level 3. This role provides the opportunity to work alongside a talented and diverse team dedicated to national security and mission success.



The CPSO is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of security programs in compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Special Access Program (SAP) requirements, and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) protocols. This role also serves as the COMSEC lead and supports the coordination of visitor and customer access control.



The CPSO will oversee daily security operations across multiple programs within Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and Special Access Program Facilities (SAPFs). Key responsibilities include managing physical security, information security, communications security (COMSEC), operations security (OPSEC), and security education for all supporting personnel.



The ideal candidate must have current experience in security management within the U.S. Government, Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community, or a DoD contractor organization.


Skills / Experience


* Current TS/SCI SAP Eligible
* Establish and maintain Special Access Program Facilities (SAPFs), Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), and Open Storage Areas in accordance with national policy and physical, personnel, and cryptographic security standards
* Manage daily security operations for SCIFs and SAPFs in accordance with ICD-705, DoD SAP policy, and customer-specific requirements including physical, IT, personnel, and access control security
* Administer and coordinate security activities to ensure compliance with federal regulations, directives, and company procedures for safeguarding classified information
* Perform personnel security processing including reviewing, approving, and submitting clearance packages, Program Access Requests (PARs), and SCI nominations
* Maintain and update security policies, procedures, and documentation as required
* Develop and manage OPSEC plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Protection Plans, DD254s, and other required documentation
* Create and implement security plans or Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) that define program-specific procedures and regulatory compliance
* Oversee compliance auditing for Access Control Systems (ACS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and Emergency Action Plans; conduct self-inspections and support security education and awareness efforts
* Prepare and submit program access requests as directed by program management
* Conduct security briefings, indoctrinations, and debriefings for program personnel
* Collaborate with corporate Security Directors, Program Managers, Government Agencies, and other stakeholders including internal and external security staff
* Coordinate with ISSOs and ISSMs to ensure policies and procedures align with customer, company, and government requirements
* Conduct annual self-inspections using customer-specific Integrated Security Assessment Checklists and agency-specific tools; support inspections, apply risk mitigation, and implement corrective actions
* Administer classified material destruction in compliance with established procedures
* Interpret and maintain Security Classification Guides and Program Protection Plans
* Coordinate with the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and government agencies to seek rulings, clarifications, and deviations for regulatory compliance
* Ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and obligations while conducting business on behalf of the company
* Provide support for other program-related security duties as assigned
* Demonstrate working knowledge of DoD and Intelligence Community security directives including DoDM 5205.07 Volumes 1-4, DoDM 5105.21 M1, ICDs, and Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs)


Education / Certifications


* Bachelor's Degree and/or 4 - 8+ years Facility, Program, Physical, CPSO and CSSO Experience

Security Clearance



Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.



Physical Requirements



Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
