Job Title: Software Quality Engineer

Job Description:
* This role monitors every phase of the software development process to ensure design quality, confirming that aircraft-delivered software meets company standards and complies with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with systems and software development teams, test and evaluation personnel, and project managers.
* Ensure effective communication and teamwork with excellent customer-facing and interpersonal skills.
* Rapidly develop an understanding of the software process audit scope, technical requirements, program risks, and delivery milestones.
* Review and approve systems, software, and test equipment requirements, as well as design and test documentation for compliance with process requirements and standards.
* Engage with engineering counterparts to ensure processes and products meet contractual, company, and regulatory requirements.
* Participate in software change control boards.
* Conduct audits of software suppliers, requiring moderate travel.
* Mentor and train junior employees as needed.
Education:
* Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (Electrical Engineering preferred).
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum 11 years of directly related experience in aerospace/defense industry software processes (e.g., RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP-4754, MIL-STD-498).
* Experience with government customer and FAA projects preferred.
* Basic understanding of audit techniques and familiarity with software development and testing methodologies.
* Ability to interpret schematic drawings, specifications, and contracts to support process review and development.
* Experience in software requirements development, design, and coding (C/C++, Ada, or other embedded languages).
* Background or knowledge in embedded software/hardware verification.
* Strong technical communication skills (written, oral, listening, presentation, technical writing).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Attributes:
* Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Detail-oriented approach to compliance and quality assurance.
