Duties
Help
  • Coordinate all tasking requirements for units and equipment from Service Component assets to support official military ceremonies.
  • Provide overall ceremonial technical advice and administrative direction for military ceremonial programs.
  • Analyze broad directives by higher authority for the management of ceremonial programs.
  • Brief senior government officials, military leadership, and the Ceremonies and Outreach Directorate (COD) Director on the progress and status of special projects and events as appropriate.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
  • You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.
  • Frequent travel within the National Capital Region is required.
  • Will be required to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, or have uncommon tour of duty, and may be on-call.
  • The work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may involve prolonged periods of standing.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes ensures seamless continuity in the planning and military ceremonies; directs and synchronizes the efforts of the ceremonial elements in the execution of all official organizational ceremonies; and oversees the responsibility of the operations and planning of the division.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
