IT Project Manager
PRISM is Looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager to join our team supporting a critical client. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team that engineers and implements upgrades and changes to critical IT systems and applications.
This role requires on-site work in Washington, D.C. 2 days per week.
The customer manages and maintains a roadmap of IT infrastructure projects and upgrades that are prioritized and assigned for execution to PRISM. Major projects include Azure and Microsoft Dynamics migrations, RedHat (RHEL) and Windows Server and Desktop operating system upgrades, Oracle Database and Middleware Upgrades, ZTA implementation, NetBackup Modernization, Mobile Device Refresh and more. These are a few examples of the important projects for which the project manager in this position would be responsible for leading and managing.
Project managers provide leadership and direction to cross-functional project teams comprised of systems engineers, test engineers, systems administrators, database administrators, project sponsors, and others. Project managers are responsible for the scope, schedule, and quality performance of IT project teams. Responsibilities also include conducting scrum ceremonies, managing scope, coordinating stakeholder participation, assessing and mitigating risks, reporting progress against plan, and collecting lessons learned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree with 9+ years of project management experience in a technical environment with a variety of IT systems. At least 8 of those years of experience must be leading the execution of IT projects in a project or task manager role.
  • PMP Certification is required.
  • Agile methodology and Scrum framework knowledge and experience. The successful candidate must also have broad knowledge of current information technology systems, infrastructures, and technologies.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to successfully manage diverse teams and interact with a large community of stakeholders.
Desired Skills:
  • Strong understanding of IT Infrastructure projects, SDLC, and technical experience (certifications preferred) in Microsoft, knowledge and experience in Change and Release Management, IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps for project management.
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure projects through an Agile methodology.
  • A strong working knowledge of network technologies and concepts, Active Directory, Windows OS, and Desktop and cloud applications such as Office 365 and SharePoint Online.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

  • Quality Control: Ensuring the project's deliverables meet the required quality standards.
