Sr. Scrum Master – Platform One (DoD Air Force)
Location: Remote (U.S.)
About the Role
As a Senior Scrum Master at Rackner, you’ll step into a high-impact leadership role within the U.S. Air Force’s cutting-edge Platform One initiative—a program revolutionizing DevSecOps across the Department of Defense. You’ll lead an elite operations team of DevSecOps engineers, driving secure, scalable software delivery for mission-critical defense systems.
This is not your average Scrum Master role—you’ll blend strategic project leadership, hands-on technical fluency, and cross-functional orchestration to enable secure military technology delivery at speed. You’ll operate at the intersection of national defense, cloud-native innovation, and agile best practices, working closely with leadership, product owners, and engineers to ensure both operational excellence and long-term program success.
What You’ll Do
Lead & Orchestrate – Drive daily operations for a cross-functional DevSecOps team supporting the Air Force’s Platform One “Party Bus” program. Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Scrum, Sprint Planning, Retros, PI Planning) while maintaining a focus on delivery excellence and continuous improvement.
Strategic Alignment – Partner with leadership to align project objectives, OKRs, and KPIs with the broader mission of Platform One and the DoD’s modernization goals.
Technical Credibility – Leverage your background as a DevSecOps engineer or backend developer to effectively coach teams, remove blockers, and ensure technical feasibility in solution design.
Mission-Critical Delivery – Manage project scope, timelines, and dependencies using Jira and Confluence, ensuring seamless integration, deployment, and operational readiness of secure software solutions.
Executive Communication – Brief senior stakeholders—including military, security, and engineering leaders—on project status, risk mitigation, and strategic priorities.
Culture of Ownership – Foster a collaborative environment where team members “own” the product and take pride in delivering secure, high-quality capabilities for national defense.
What You Bring
Former DevSecOps engineer or backend developer experience—technical credibility is key.
Strong knowledge of DevSecOps principles; Kubernetes understanding required, hands-on experience a plus.
5+ years in project or program management in complex, technical DoD or federal environments.
Proven leadership of cross-functional, hybrid, or remote teams.
Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, and servant leadership skills.
Active or obtainable Secret Security Clearance.
