Job Summary:
TEKsystems is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced System Engineer to support enterprise IT infrastructure and systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining server and cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux server environments.
Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime.
Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and patch management strategies.
Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to support infrastructure needs.
Automate system tasks using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide Tier 3 support for escalated issues.
Required Qualifications:
3–5+ years of experience in systems engineering or administration.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems.
Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms.
Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards.
Scripting experience for automation and system management.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, RHCE, AWS/Azure) are a plus.
