Qualifications
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14 and the NT-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-11 and GS-12.
TO QUALIFY FOR NT-05 POSITION:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing engineering technical procedures to support efforts in testing or development, production, maintenance, or troubleshooting of torpedo systems or electrical subsystems for compliance with fleet requirements and meeting customer demands.

- You will serve as an electrical technician for heavyweight and lightweight torpedo systems, electrical subsystems and support equipment in the Weapon Systems Electrical Systems Branch, Code 8525 of NUWC Division Newport, RI.
- You will support the development, production, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upkeep of complex torpedo electrical systems, subsystems and support equipment.
- You will manage equipment, logistics, security, information technology, cybersecurity, and safety within the C852 Torpedo Electronics Laboratory (TEL) facility.
- You will support heavyweight and lightweight torpedo electronics subsystem and operational software development, integration and test in the Torpedo Integration facility.
- You will be responsible for oversight of all technical operations involving planning, monitoring, and execution of development and test for torpedo electronics hardware and support equipment within the C852 TEL.
- You will track and monitor planning of work, assign resources, and evaluate execution of tasking within the teams' work to execute development, assembly, integration and test of torpedo and support equipment electronics hardware.
- You will be responsible for the safety, security, and environmental compliance associated with task execution, including development of standard operating procedures.
- You will monitor infrastructure and equipment usage expirations to ensure compliance with all regulations.
- You will provide recommendations to the Lead Project Engineers and/or Technical Program Managers on improvements to processes, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of equipment/systems.
- You will require knowledge of torpedo electronics systems and sub-systems integration, test and test equipment.
- You will be required to demonstrate ability to train, lead or mentor employees in the work associated with torpedo electronics systems and subsystems.
- You will require an understanding for compliance with environmental, safety, cybersecurity, and administrative functions (materials, Calibration, etc.).
- You will be required to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with senior military and civilian leadership .
