Description

Summary: Provides network, communications and system engineering and integration services necessary to design new and upgraded networks and install equipment required to provide communications networking services.

Provide monitoring, configuration control, technical services, and second level maintenance and repair for the networks and infrastructure that comprise the WPAFB Local/Metropolitan/Wide Area Networks (LAN/MAN/WAN), NIPRNET, Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS), and BlackNet transport networks.
  • Provides leadership and management to establish Network information requirements using analysis of the Network engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale networking infrastructure (CAN, MAN, WAN).
  • Supports the planning and performance of network engineering research, systems design development, and other assignments in conformance with DISA STIGS, network design, engineering and customer specifications.
  • Designs architecture to include the software, hardware and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
  • Accurately record hours worked in time accounting system each day worked or as otherwise directed by Leadership, with 100% compliance, and provide appropriate inputs to the Weekly and Monthly Activity Reports on time as directed by Task Lead and/or Team Lead, with 100% compliance


Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network systems processes and procedures or skills equivalent to Air Force certification for the position task
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and 5 years of experience in networking and computer systems.
    • An additional 3 years experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
  • DoD 8570 - one of the following:
    • Security+ (Security+ preferred)
    • Information Assurance Technical Level I (IAT-I) Certification: Certified Automation Professional (CAP),
    • Global Information Security Fundamentals (GISF),
    • Global Security Leadership Certificate (GSLC) or
  • Operating System (OS) Certification
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA),
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred.
  • Secret Clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret
