ASIC/FPGA Design Engineer

Bloomington, MN

Contract Position

Pay Estimated: $59.13-$64.13/Hour

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.)

Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance

Lead the definition, design, verification, and documentation of ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuits) and FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Arrays) for advanced defense systems. This role spans architecture, simulation, synthesis, and testing throughout the ASIC/FPGA development life cycle.

Responsibilities:

• Define architecture, module interfaces, and detailed design approach.
• Perform system simulation, synthesis, place & route, timing, and power analysis.
• Develop test and simulation plans, establish functional criteria, and verify results.
• Evaluate foundry technologies, device libraries, and vendor capabilities.
• Support technical product generation using industry standards, processes, and tools.
• Select components based on specification and reliability analysis.
• Contribute to process improvements for ASIC/FPGA engineering.
• Research and analyze customer specifications to determine design feasibility.
• Collaborate with internal teams, project leaders, and external customers as needed.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Education: Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field + 5+ years relevant experience (or Master's + 3 years).
• Clearance: Ability to Obtain and Maintain Secret Clearance
• Required Skills:
  
  • Expert-level proficiency in ASIC/FPGA design concepts, principles, and processes.
  • SystemVerilog fluency.
  • Proficient in ASIC/FPGA design tools (synthesis, simulation, timing, and power analysis).
  • Strong understanding of related engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently under limited direction.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Microchip PolarFire devices.
