We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the ELSYS Task Order under the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). This role will be embedded within our TGS team, providing mission-critical support to the newly established IT and Cyber Security Division at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) in China Lake.
Key Responsibilities:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 Infrastructure Buildout:
Design, configure, and deploy RHEL 8 servers and client systems to support program operations.
Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with mission requirements.
System Administration & Security Compliance:
Perform full lifecycle system administration including installation, configuration, patching, and maintenance.
Apply and validate Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and other cybersecurity configurations.
Manage user accounts, access controls, and troubleshoot software compatibility issues related to security settings.
Maintain system documentation and support audits and inspections.
Transition Support & Knowledge Transfer:
Collaborate closely with the current System Administrator to understand existing infrastructure and processes.
Gradually assume full responsibilities as the current SA transitions out of the role.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members as needed.
