Purpose/Scope:
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals
(OMHA) requires Microsoft SharePoint subject matter experts to support OMHA knowledge and
skills in the development of a new SharePoint Online 365 environment and migration of existing
SharePoint content. The developers will ensure a seamless design, build, and migration with
minimal disruption to business operations while maintaining data integrity, security, and
compliance.
Background:
The current OMHA SharePoint site is hosted on the National Institute of Health (NIH) SP 2019
platform. NIH plans to decommission this platform and server by June 2026. OMHA would
like to take this opportunity to rebuild their site and move it to the HHS Office of Chief
Information Officer (OCIO) SP Online 365 platform.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the successful development and migration of a SharePoint Online/365 environment. The SME will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise throughout the project lifecycle to ensure data integrity, usability, compliance, and high-quality deliverables aligned with project timelines and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and implement SharePoint Online/365 solutions, including web parts, workflows, site templates, and content types.
• Migrate data and documents from legacy SharePoint environments to SharePoint 365, ensuring minimal data loss.
• Configure SharePoint services such as Search Service, User Profile Service, and other Service Applications.
• Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and end-users to gather requirements and deliver user-friendly solutions.
• Provide weekly development progress reports and risk assessments.
• Develop system customizations and contribute to post-build reports.
• Ensure all deliverables meet technical accuracy, clarity, and government file editing requirements.
• Support testing efforts by developing test cases and executing quality assurance activities.
• Assist with user documentation and knowledge transfer sessions.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in SharePoint development, administration, and migration.
• Proven experience with SharePoint Online, SharePoint 365 Framework, and Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
