Summary of Position
We are seeking a Senior Operations Watch Officer to support a critical Army Cyber Operations Center. The work location will be Fort Huachuca, AZ, and will provide technical oversight and incident response for the GCC-C, supporting the Army's OCONUS Theater. This position requires a current Secret Clearance.
The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of IT operations, strong decision-making skills, and familiarity with ITIL incident management processes. This role is shift-based and requires flexibility, including weekends and holidays.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide 24/7 operational oversight of a complex Cyber Operations Center
Maintain situational awareness of all outages affecting GCC-C managed assets
Monitor, track, and report IT incidents and outages, ensuring timely resolution
Facilitate critical event resolution and ensure appropriate incident prioritization
Approve and manage Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) for OCONUS networks
Ensure accurate and timely reporting to senior leaders and higher headquarters
Conduct incident triage, call-out procedures, and escalate technical issues
Review Commander's Critical Information Reports (CCIR) for technical accuracy
Serve as the senior contract team member during non-core hours
Remain current on cyber policy/procedures and serve as a subject matter expert
Support situational understanding and resource allocation to meet SLTs
Operate multiple cyber monitoring tools to detect network anomalies and issues
Ensure organizational processes are followed for incident response
Required Qualifications:
Security Clearance: Current Secret Clearance
Education & Experience:
HS diploma + 6 years of experience
OR AA/AS + 4 years of experience
OR BA/BS + 2 years of experience
To include 2+ years' experience in military operations (NETOPS/G3/S3/S6)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Basic understanding of IT systems and cyber operations
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong interpersonal and phone communication skills
Must be available for rotating shift work, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
ITIL Foundations v4 certification
Experience in IT operations at the Brigade level or higher
Proven ability to remain calm under pressure and during critical situations
Prior experience in military or government cyber environments
Physical and Mental Qualifications:
Maintain awareness and attention during shift hours
Prolonged sitting or standing at a computer workstation
Lift and move objects up to 15 pounds
Strong command of the English language in both written and verbal form
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Quickly learn and retain standard tasks and procedures
High level of organization, grammar, and self-management
