Hardware Systems Engineer

Job Summary
KBR is seeking a Hardware Systems Engineer that has experience working with Patriot Ground Support Equipment hardware and standards used by US Military Systems. Candidates must possess relevant engineering experience in development and fielding of Military Ground or Air Defense Systems. The Engineer in this role will be part of a team of engineers and analysts supporting the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. The candidate will support projects from conceptualization to fielding, participate in high profile meetings, and brief technical results to United States Government (USG) stakeholder(s) and contractors.
The Systems Engineer provides technical and programmatic support to the Patriot Ground Support Equipment (PGSE) product office within IFMC. Primary duties include systems engineering oversight and analysis of PGSE technical data. Systems engineering assistance will include development and review of system requirements and test objectives, as well as validation and verification. Technical analysis duties will require the engineer to evaluate potential hardware solutions to meet system requirements and evaluate test results for objective accomplishment. The candidate will also need to learn and retain extensive knowledge on how the PGSE systems and subsystems function, operate, and interface with the warfighter.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform technical engineering and problem solving with a focus on ground support equipment performance of hardware within a radar, command and control, power generation and support equipment.
- Perform analysis applying appropriate scientific and engineering processes and modeling techniques to the life cycle development of ground support hardware.
- Support planning and execution of system performance analysis, independent performance assessments, post-test analysis and simulation in support of Verification and Validation activities.
- Maintain and improve large scale simulations to support multiple missions and integrate existing models from mission partners into simulations.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support during execution of analysis for Hardware In-the Loop (HWIL), Digital Modeling and Simulation (M&S), and analysis tasks.
Required Qualifications:
- Certified Engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
- Experience working in DoD engineering roles
- Experience with Air and Missile Defense systems
- U.S. Citizen with active Secret security clearance or with the ability to obtain and maintain one
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in RF hardware or RF systems design with an emphasis on Radar hardware experience
- Background in ground support equipment hardware or systems design with an emphasis on hardware experience
- Experience supporting Army Air Defense systems
- Experience giving technical briefings to external customers
- Familiarity with Military and Industry Engineering Standards
- MATLAB, Python, or Visual Basic Excel
