Program Manager - Strategic Communications
Location: Washington, D.C. USCG HQ
Overview: Our client is seeking a Strategic Communications Project Manager to support the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Office of Governmental and Public Affairs (CG-092). This position will oversee strategic communications initiatives, digital engagement, and multi-media support efforts for one of the most public-facing branches of the armed services. The role is contingent upon award of an upcoming contract and is part of our early talent identification process.

Overview: Our client is seeking a Strategic Communications Project Manager to support the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Office of Governmental and Public Affairs (CG-092). This position will oversee strategic communications initiatives, digital engagement, and multi-media support efforts for one of the most public-facing branches of the armed services. The role is contingent upon award of an upcoming contract and is part of our early talent identification process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary interface between the government and project team, ensuring successful execution of contract tasks across CG-092 divisions (Public Affairs, Congressional Affairs, External Affairs, and Heritage Programs).
- Lead the development and implementation of integrated communication strategies that support mission objectives and stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate the delivery of high-quality digital content, social media campaigns, multimedia products, and strategic messaging tools across multiple platforms.
- Manage schedules, deliverables, quality assurance, and reporting across a diverse team of communications professionals, creatives, and SMEs.
- Oversee project budget, resource planning, and compliance with federal processes and USCG requirements.
- Support CG-09241 efforts for the National Coast Guard Museum, including exhibit communication strategies, heritage programming, and public outreach planning.
- Facilitate planning and working sessions with stakeholders to align deliverables to strategic goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Clearance: Public Trust
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of project management experience supporting federal communications, public affairs, or strategic engagement programs.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and overseeing delivery of multimedia, digital, or editorial products.
- Strong organizational, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with federal contracting and communications protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certification or similar.
- Knowledge of USCG, DHS, or military communications environments.
- Experience supporting museum, heritage, or curatorial programs is a plus.
- Background in digital communications metrics, analytics, and platform governance.
