Your Mission
As a School Based Counselor Associate, you will be a key part of the school community, delivering essential behavioral health services directly to students. You will be instrumental in creating a supportive environment that fosters student growth and success.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver impactful individual and group counseling to students.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health and psychosocial assessments.
- Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely progress notes and documentation.
- Provide crisis support and brief interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with school staff and participate in administrative and case staffing meetings.
- Engage in school outreach and deliver educational presentations to promote wellness.
- Participate in clinical supervision and peer consultation to enhance your skills.
- Manage appropriate referrals and client discharge to ensure continuity of care.
Schedule & Shift Details
- This is a full-time position during the academic year.
- You will be based in a school setting in Wayne County, NC, providing consistent, on-site support.
Requirements
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled professional ready to make a difference.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
- An active North Carolina associate-level license is required, such as an:
- Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A).
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A).
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFT-A).
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in counseling with children and adolescents, group therapy, and diverse populations.
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Clinical assessment, treatment planning, and DSM-V diagnostics.
- Evidence-based counseling methods and cultural competence.
- Basic case management, referral services, and family systems approaches.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
