We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist – Nuclear Located in Oak Ridge, TN.

We are a USA-based developer of patented advanced laser technology that utilizes infrared wavelengths to selectively excite molecules of desired isotopes for separation. Our Laser Isotope Separation Technology has numerous applications, making us the only USA-origin and patented laser uranium enrichment company. Our technology offers significant advantages over traditional methods, including gas diffusion and centrifuges, by being more energy-efficient and cost-competitive. We are tailored for Low Enriched Uranium (LEU) for existing civilian nuclear power plants, High-Assay LEU (HALEU) for next-generation Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and Microreactors, the production of stable isotopes for medical and scientific research, and applications in quantum computing and semiconductor manufacturing. Our team comprises world-class nuclear experts collaborating with leading entrepreneurs and professionals, fostering strong relationships in both government and private nuclear sectors
The position.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to assist in the development and implementation of the Laser Isotope Separation Technologies (L.I.S.T.) quality assurance program as we develop production scale enrichment processes based on our patented Laser Isotope Separation Technology laboratory scale process. The L.I.S.T. has a huge range of applications, including being the only USA-origin and patented laser uranium enrichment company, and several major advantages over traditional methods such as gas diffusion, centrifuges, and prior art laser enrichment.
The position reports to the Director of Quality Assurance and is on-site, at our facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. You'll work independently with limited supervision, applying your knowledge to projects and processes. Responsibilities
Quality oversight to ensure work is performed in strict accordance with requirements of the quality assurance program and supporting procedures, work-instructions, and forms.
Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health program requirements.
Collaborate with the production team to implement quality improvements and perform causal analysis investigations on project-related issues.
Assists technical staff with the creation of quality plans and acceptance criteria lists, and selection of hold points on vendors’ manufacturing inspection plans.
Promote Continuous Improvement and the timely reporting of all conditions that affect Quality.
Lead and mentor personnel to ensure the correct behaviors are developed and reinforced.
Supports supplier qualification and verification activities.
May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
5 years of experience in quality assurance, with 2 years nuclear quality experience in a Department of Energy (DOE), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), or similar environment.
Knowledge of Quality standards such as ISO 9001, ASME NQA-1, and ASME III.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work and demonstrate critical thinking individually and as part of a diverse team.
Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with uranium fuel production and enrichment.
Qualified lead auditor or the ability to qualify within 1 year highly desirable.
Experience with commercial grade dedication.
Previous certification in non-destructive examination.
Special Requirements
Limited travel to support supplier surveys/audits or company internal audits.
Q Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position requires passing a background check and a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.
This position requires access to radiologically controlled areas. Ability to meet all safety requirements is mandatory.
