Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with direct AWS migration experience to support a long-term, part-time federal cloud migration initiative. This role is responsible for building, managing, and tracking migration wave plans and coordinating with federal and technical stakeholders throughout the cloud transition process.
Candidates should have prior experience supporting enterprise AWS migration projects in federal environments and the ability to work independently in a secure, remote capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct application portfolio analysis to assess cloud migration readiness
Define and sequence application migration waves for AWS
Build and maintain detailed migration wave plans with milestones and dependencies
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including security, engineering, and business units
Track and document progress, risks, and blockers
Support migration strategy documentation, stakeholder briefings, and federal reporting
Ensure security and compliance alignment with federal cloud standards (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST)
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise IT or federal environments
Hands-on experience with AWS migration projects, including wave planning
Strong experience gathering technical and business readiness data
Excellent stakeholder coordination, documentation, and remote team collaboration skills
U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of federal contracts
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Public Trust or ability to obtain a clearance strongly preferred
AWS Cloud Practitioner or AWS Solutions Architect certification
CBAP or PMI-PBA certification
Familiarity with portfolio and project tools like Smartsheet, ServiceNow, or JIRA
Experience with data center exit, cloud modernization, or legacy system migration
Prior support of DoD, VA, DHS, or other federal agencies
