Duties
Help
  • You will develop and implement quality assurance plans and projects.
  • You will evaluate government systems and procedures associated with the handling, transportation and storage of ready-for-issue security system spares.
  • You will assess associated Maintenance Program(s) to ensure compliance with standards, adherence to approved procedures, and to improve overall program reliability.
  • You will prepare evaluation plans and evaluates inspector reports to ensure an effective maintenance management program.
  • You will Independently conduct inspections of preventive/corrective maintenance for adherence to approved procedures and quality of completed equipment modifications
  • You will verify that special processes are utilized, controlled and maintained current.
  • You will verify hardware and software settings are within acceptable ranges to assure system effectiveness and reliability is maintained.
  • You will Implement and conduct a quality assurance verification program (s) to ensure the contractor operates and maintains all Strategic Security Requirements in accordance with contract specifications.
  • You will negotiate and assist contractors and government personnel to resolve technical and quality assurance/quality control problems.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications

GS-7: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying Quality Assurance procedures, standardized rules, and techniques associated with the implementation of the Quality Assurance programs, analyze quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system and procedures to ensure compliance with established quality control requirements.

GS-9: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading or coordinating quality assurance inspections, assessments, reviews, audits, or surveillance of contractor operating processes, assists with correction action needed for continuous improvement in cost, and identifies and administers testing and evaluation requirements.

Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

FOR GS-07 GRADE LEVEL
:
  • Successfully completed one full year of graduate level education with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position; OR
  • Successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position; OR
  • Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
FOR GS-09 GRADE LEVEL:
  • Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position; OR
  • Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position; OR
  • Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled; OR
  • Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
