I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.

Help
- You will perform traditional nondestructive inspection of castings, forgings, machined parts, test plates, welds, metal cladding, pipes, bar stock, flat sheets, airframe and engine assemblies and nonmetallic (composites) and mechanical equipment.
- You will utilize complex electronic testing equipment and measuring instruments and various chemicals to accomplish job tasks.
- You will examine parts and they are inducted into the facility to determine the existence of flaws or defects.
- You will rework examined flaws or defects to determine if the unit still meets specifications.
- You will perform traditional and advanced nondestructive inspections (ANDI) of aircrafts, aircraft parts, and aircraft engine parts/components that are repaired, processed and manufactured in the Fleet Readiness Center (FRC).
- You will comply with safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
- You will instruct/assist work of lesser-skilled personnel as required.

- This position requires heavy lifting over 40 pounds and carrying objects up to 40 pounds.
- Tasks performed will involve standing, sitting at bench, and walking.
- At times tasks will require pulling, pushing, stooping, and reaching are required with prolonged kneeling, bending, and squatting for a period in excess of 6 hours.
- This position requires corrected vision as eye strain may occur from prolonged work on small parts, near vision correctable at 14" to Jaeger 2 and far vision correctable to 20/20 in one eye.
- Selectee must be able to distinguish color.
- May be required to work as a radiation barrier monitor in radiation areas where x-ray is being used and required to wear proper monitoring equipment for ionizing radiation.
