JOB DESCRIPTION: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Advanced Systems Engineer to work from their Manassas, VA facility. As a systems engineer for CWL, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for the system engineering and functional design of the system under development, addressing topics such as payload integration, weapon launch interlocks, weapon simulation, message exchanges, user interfaces, and cybersecurity. As a member of the system engineering team, the candidate will help ensure functional and technical specifications and standards are complete and accurate, delivered as required to support customer review and approval, to support system development and test.

QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

- B.S or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related degree
- At least 5 years of experience in and engineering role, preferably defense related
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with computer system architectures, cybersecurity, Linux or embedded operating systems
