MTSI is looking for a Operational Research Analyst with a strong background in Intelligence to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Armament Directorate, on Eglin AFB, FL. The ideal candidate takes initiative, communicates effectively, and excels in cross-departmental collaboration.
Our analysis team incorporates current and relevant intelligence information and utilizes that intelligence to processes threat informed analysis. This analysis includes products from discretized campaigns, assessing parametric data, evaluating Air Force armament health, and reviewing modeling simulation and analysis data. Incorporating intelligence into the analysis is crucial to ensuring findings are accurate and informed.

Responsibilities:
The prospective candidate will:
- Independently initiate, execute, and coordinate engagements with other Government agency subject matter experts and industry partners under the overall program management oversight and direction of government personnel.
- Cultivate effective working relationships with within the EB directorate and across the IC.
- Analyze mission areas and present a comprehensive review, individual study assessments, and recommendations on investment strategies and future study requirements annually.
- Conduct analysis and research to evaluate future weapon concepts and capability gaps, improvements, and recommendations for further research and testing, as well as propose acquisition impacts from the perspective of AFPEO/WP.
- Pursue and evaluate relevant intelligence assessments.
- Evaluate engineering inputs to capability development strategies on concepts gathered from government, industry, DoD laboratories, and coalition partners.
- Ensure statistical design and analysis of raw data is consistent with study objectives, cost, schedule, and performance criteria.
- Promote, research, and evaluate opportunities for meeting existing mission needs and further expanding mission capabilities through the application of next generation technology and processes to system components.
- Possess an understanding of Modeling Simulation and Analysis environments such as AFSIM. Provide technical support related to mission needs as a basis for making managerial, technical, strategic, or tactical decision, as well as for the purpose of identifying new engineering tools and simulation environments technology.
- Assess the acquisition and rapid prototyping considerations of future kinetic and non-kinetic weapons using state of the art technologies. This is required both where there is no legacy weapon equivalent and where a legacy weapon could be modified to provide the desired capability.
- Develop briefing, narrative, and analysis products based on Government Program Manager direction to support unique higher headquarters capability needs where no prior template exists and little to no higher headquarters guidance is available.
- Participate in creating informed study guidance and study plans to support analysis efforts by defining the requirements to be analyzed.
- Communicate / interface with prime contractors, sub-system suppliers, and any other government stakeholders to meet program objectives.
- Conduct early systems engineering activities including acquisition risk assessment, requirements development, schedule development/oversight, action item development/oversight, etc
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years' recent experience in the IC
- 3-5 years' operational and analytical experience in DoD operations
- Comprehensive understanding of the organizational mission and interfaces with intelligence, Major Commands, Air Staff, DoD laboratories, and support agencies
- The ability to develop and give effective oral presentations and to effectively communicate in writing
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in operations research, engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or statistics from an accredited university or college
Clearance Requirements:
- Top Secret
- Must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
