- You will lead and manage major programs that develop new tools, and analytical methods and processes to predict ship survivability and lethality of weapons on maritime targets.
- You will formulate research and development work proposals and solicit resource sponsors.
- You will perform short- and long-range planning, preparing and presenting proposals, and managing customers' expectations.
- You will develop, implement, and transition new technologies involving analytical methods that improve the ability to predict the response of ships to the damaging effects of a conventional air or underwater weapon attack.
- You will plan and conduct tests, trials, analyses and studies of air and underwater weapons effects to improve ship survivability and/or lethality of weapons on maritime targets.
- You will support the development and implementation of new testing strategies.

- Professional Engineering Series (08XX) - Substitution of Education/Experience: A combination of education and experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering; and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (a) professional registration, (b) evidence of successfully passing the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination; (c) successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified above; or (d) successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering technology or in an appropriate professional field, e.g., physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a degree in engineering provided that it included at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.
