KBR is seeking a motivated and experienced, Sustainment Test Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.

KBR is the prime contractor on the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (MSEIT) contract. By applying to this position, you are in consideration for KBR employment; however, you also have the option to be hired by one of our subcontractor partners.

The MSEIT effort provides leading-edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the United States Space Force's (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC). We acquire state-of-the-art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems. Join our high-functioning, high-performing MSEIT Sustainment IPT located at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB) and be an important part of directly supporting the Joint and Allied operational warfighting community, currently employing MILSATCOM and NC3 space systems, terminals and software applications worldwide.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Force's Space Systems Center (SSC). We support the Space Force's acquisition of state of the art satellite communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation's warfighters. Key Responsibilities:
  • Be an integral stakeholder for testing new MPSS features while working closely with the government customer and prime contractor
  • Create test designs, develop Detailed Test Procedures (DTP), oversee factory testing, execute in-house, government independent testing, and produce/present test reports and findings
  • Use their extensive MPSS experience and expertise to translate and apply knowledge of various MPSS application modules to update system configuration diagrams, conduct engineering studies, generate technical white papers, facilitate troubleshooting, and provide deficiency analysis
  • Identify and isolate software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues and provide technical assessments to the government customer
  • Potential for travel approximately 20%

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Possess a DoD Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or similar STEM discipline; direct experience of 10 years can be used in lieu of technical degree
  • 5+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients/managing professional relationships
  • 5+ years of experience with MPSS, MPE equipment, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Must be a motivated, self-starter capable of autonomous on-the-job learning/improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills


Desired:
  • 3+ years of experience handling Communications Security (COMSEC) materials and devices
  • Knowledge of DoD mission system sustainment
  • Specific experience operating or maintaining the Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T)
  • Experience with working in a highly competitive multi-contractor environment
  • International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) Certification (i.e., ASEP, CSEP, ESEP)
  • Be able to attain a TS/SCI clearance


Basic Compensation: $119,000-$149,000 in Colorado

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
