Job Summary
We are seeking a Principal Specialist, Software Engineering to join our highly qualified and distinguished team supporting PMA-231 and HawkeyeFlight. We are seeing a software engineer with a strong data science background and AWS architecture and development experience to work on cutting edge advancements in data visualization, trending and analysis in support of E-2D maintenance, airworthiness and safety of flight. HawkeyeFlight is platform specific toolset for the visualization of E-2D maintenance data as part of a master data management strategy that enables both local and fleet aggregate trending and analysis. The ideal candidate will bring big data management skills, along with the ability to design, develop, enhance and deploy advancements that support safety of flight determinations and mission readiness.

Job Summary
We are seeking a Principal Specialist, Software Engineering to join our highly qualified and distinguished team supporting PMA-231 and HawkeyeFlight. The ideal candidate will bring big data management skills, along with the ability to design, develop, enhance and deploy advancements that support safety of flight determinations and mission readiness.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Gather requirements for new development
- Facilitate communication between multiple support entities (SDR and KBR)
- Design and develop AWS architecture for new applications as well as participate in discussions on implementing new technologies
- Develop Data Science solutions on enterprise-level data warehouse and related infrastructure. Tools used include Hadoop/HDFS, Hive, SQL, Python, PyHive, Pandas, Cloudera Data Science Workbench, and Tableau
- Responsible for Test and Production deployments
- Support resolution of trouble issues reported by users
- Use of agile best practices and standards including Scrum, Test Driven Development, paired programming, code reviews, bug tracking, continuous integration.
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS in mathematics, engineering, computer science, or other related field AND 10 or more years of experience at NAVAIR engineering working in the Standard Data Repository.
- AWS Cloud Architect, Engineer or other Professional AWS Certification.
Must have 10 or more years of experience with the following:
- Software Development & Engineering: Python, SQL, HDFS, Hive, Impala, Dash, Jupyter Notebooks, GitLab, Process improvement, technical documentation.
- Data analysis & machine learning: data extraction, processing, and visualization, machine learning model development and deployment, statistical analysis, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, gear diagnostics, signal processing.
- fleet readiness & diagnostics: development of diagnostic tools and dashboards, fleet monitoring and analysis, fault identification and prediction, maintenance optimization, cost avoidance, airworthiness analysis.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance.
- Must be able to travel as required by the contract.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS Degree in engineer field.
- 5-10 years AWS cloud architecture and development experience.
- Local to Lexington Park, MD - ability to attend in person meetings with advance notice.

Compensation:
- $144,980 - $217,470
