We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team. The HR Generalist will report to, and provide back-up for, our HR & Compliance Manager and will work on site within our two Princeton, NJ locations. This is a hands-on position that will work both autonomously and as part of the HR Team.

The pay range for this position is $81,000 - $110,000 / year. We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team. The HR Generalist will report to, and provide back-up for, our HR & Compliance Manager and will work on site within our two Princeton, NJ locations. This is a hands-on position that will work both autonomously and as part of the HR Team.
Responsibilities
- Acts as the first point of contact for employee relations, workers' compensation and other employment issues at our Princeton locations and escalates to HR & Compliance Manager as appropriate
- Provides front-line support for day-to-day human resources functions and employee or manager requests
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute programs, policies, procedures, practices, and systems that ensure legal and effective operation of human resource functions
- Manages federal, state, and company paid leaves of absence
- Conducts exit interviews and ensures documentation is processed for terminating employees
- Works with the HR and management teams to identify and implement employee engagement and retention strategies which promote a positive company culture
- Assists in recruitment and hiring efforts including interviewing, onboarding, and orientation
- Assists with government contract compliance requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field, or equivalent experience plus PHR or SHRM-CP certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in at least 2 HR functional areas
- Self-starter with the ability to self-teach, take initiative and find answers on their own
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly confidential information with professionalism, integrity, and good judgement
- Minimum of 1 year of Experience working with ADP WorforceNow
- Tech-savvy with an ability to quickly learn new systems and analyze and interpret data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate at all organizational levels
- Ability and desire to remain current on employment best practices, trends, and New Jersey state employment laws
- Experience working with FMLA and state paid Family and Medical Leave
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
