Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
Military Spouses and Family Members may apply 30 days before their anticipated arrival date. However, they will not receive preference until arrival at the foreign location. Additional documentation may be required prior to granting preference.
Military spouses and family members who are appointed may not extend longer than 2 months following the transfer of the sponsor from the commuting area of the foreign duty station; 2 months beyond the separation of the appointee's sponsor; or any time beyond the time employee ceases to be a family member.

- You will serve as the External Communications Systems (EXCOMMS) Branch Head for all matters related to EXCOOMS readiness in support of the Forward Deployed Naval Forces and ships and craft operating in the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility.
- You will assign technicians to support shipboard assessment events planned by Code 210 Assessment Division and to support Code 300 Production as required to validate material and operational readiness of assigned systems.
- You will view, validate, and monitor work statuses for Fleet Technical Assistance (FTA) Job Control Numbers (JCN).
- You will validate submitted deficiency and repair action reports to identify, analyze, and document deficiencies and develop comprehensive repair plans in support of depot level work packages and ships system life-cycle programs.
- You will track all FTA cost and required man-hours in support of repairs and/or modernization during Fleet technical assistance efforts pertaining to the JCNs assigned to your branch.
- You will monitor and coordinate resolution of all Fleet Technical Assistance maintenance request and engineering problems associated with assigned systems and sub-systems on ships assigned to the 7th Fleet AOR.
- You will plan work for subordinates, set standards for acceptable work, and assign work to subordinates based on priorities, work scope, complexity and employee capabilities.
- You will identify professional growth requirements for subordinate employees, develop and implement a branch level training plan in support of the Department's mission.

Qualifications
