Position Summary:

Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking a qualified professional to provide support for travel arrangement, tracking, and analysis activities during emergency operations. In coordination with the Division's Finance Travel Section, this role will be responsible for creating travel authorizations, ensuring compliance with Florida statutes and rules, tracking travel-related costs, and making travel arrangements such as lodging and rental vehicles, among other assigned responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with the Division's Finance Travel Section to support travel operations
  • Create and manage travel authorizations in compliance with state requirements
  • Ensure adherence to Florida statutes, rules, and applicable travel guidelines
  • Track and document travel costs and prepare related financial reports
  • Arrange lodging, rental vehicles, and other travel accommodations
  • Support travel-related procurement and documentation requirements
  • Assist with the reconciliation of travel expenses and auditing processes
  • Use software tools to maintain accurate and organized travel data
  • Provide administrative and analytical support for travel-related tasks as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
  • 2 years of applicable experience in travel coordination, finance, or administrative support
  • Working knowledge of state statutes, rules, and applicable guidelines related to financial matters
  • Data analysis skills and critical thinking skills
  • Working knowledge of contract management principles and concepts
  • Experience utilizing Salesforce-based programs and other software tools used by the Division
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting travel coordination in an ICS or EOC environment
  • Familiarity with state and federal travel reimbursement policies
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and travel management systems

  • Travel Required: Yes - up to 100% while on assignment

Working Environment:

The usual work environment is an office or EOC setting at a location determined by assignment. The role may involve occasional lifting of computers and equipment (generally not exceeding 50 lbs.), typically in connection with off-site transport. Travel regularly includes locations throughout the continental United States and its territories. Duties may involve extended work periods beyond 12 hours per day, work in outdoor/austere conditions, and prolonged driving to work sites.
