As an Airworthiness Manager, you'll be responsible for Aviation Product Approvals, and cultivating an efficient compliance environment with applicable aviation regulations, policies, and procedures. You will oversee the operation and compliance of one or more aviation approval(s), and will serve as the Accountable Manager for one or more Civil Aviation Approvals. You'll serve as our primary airworthiness point of contact with Civil Aviation Authorities (FAA, NTSB, foreign CAA, etc.), support proposals and program planning relative to airworthiness compliance, and conduct internal audits of airworthiness compliance. Our Airworthiness Managers (Product Approvals) work closely with Certification Managers (Design Approvals) to proactively build compliance into our aviation deliverables.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • B.A. (or equivalent degree) and typically, 6+ years of progressive aviation experience, which includes 0-2+ years of management experience
  • A higher level degree may substitute for relevant experience
  • Current FAA Airworthiness Designee, or eligible to become an FAA Airworthiness Designee
  • Current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification, with Inspection Authorization (IA)
  • Working knowledge of aviation design approvals, production, airworthiness certification, flight operations, maintenance, and modifications
  • Solid knowledge of 14 CFR, Orders, Advisory Circulars, and FAA Legal Interpretations
  • Experience working within an FAA approval holder system
  • Work history must be free of FAA enforcement action against your personal certificate(s), or against any organizational approval for which you were a manager
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience as an FAA or EASA Accountable Manager
  • Background in Quality Management
  • Experience with wide body aircrafts
  • Experience as an Airworthiness Unit member
  • Experience as a Manager within an FAA-approved organization
  • Cross-functional aviation experience, rather than limited or specialized experience
  • Hands-on experience with different sizes/types of aircraft
  • Experience supporting both Military and Commercial Aircraft environments
  • Ability to effectively balance all requirements (Company, Customer and Compliance) through proactive actions rather than compromise
  • Critical thinker with the ability to apply an efficient compliance environment in real world applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills; leads by example and through influencing
  • Multi-Tasker with strong organizational and administrative skills

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
