Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Responsibilities
- Support all phases of the system lifecycle, from concept to retirement
- Root cause analysis of system/component issues and/or failure
- Researching and reviewing ship's structural and electrical drawings to support system integration
- 2D and 3D modeling design and drafting of mechanical and electrical assemblies
- Prototyping
- Inspection and acceptance of material received from procurement or fabrication
- Factory acceptance testing
- Support all aspects of technical data package (TDP) development (i.e., Temporary Alterations = TEMPALT)
- Draft forwarding letters and process flow checklists
- Ship check and fit check of submarines
- Support all aspects of system testing and documentation, including but not limited to:
- electromagnetic interference (EMI)/electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
- hydrostatic testing (10 cycle)
- cybersecurity/information assurance
- Support fleet troubleshooting efforts
- Support the creation of departures from specification (DFS)
- Engage with traditional and Agile project management processes and systems engineering processes
- Identify and remove obstacles in the workflow
- Support with presentations and briefs to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's level degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
- 3 years of experience on multi-disciplinary teams supporting Submarine system development, system integration, and alteration package development.
- Have an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance (US Citizenship).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering related to submarine system development, system integration, or alteration development.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Linux, C/C++
