Duties
Help
  • Acts as the DLA Indo-Pacific Defense Travel System (DTS) administrator.
  • Serves as the technical advisor for the DLA Indo-Pacific Travel and Government Travel Charge Card Program.
  • Resolves complex problems offering guidance in the implementation of new policies, system errors and performance issues, and revised regulations.
  • Manages and monitors the use of the travel charge card accounts and briefing various levels of management.
  • Performs projects related to assigned administrative programs to include analysis of new or changing requirements and their impact on organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Manages financial responsibility/oversight of functions i.e. budget development, administration and execution. Budgetary duties include preparation of monthly execution reports, fund analysis and allocation, management of the government credit card.
  • Regulates manuals, directives, and historical files to obtain data and /or information to be used to formulate recommendations to management.
  • Plans, implements and manages policies and procedures related to the effectiveness and efficiency of programs' operations.
  • Analyzes existing Programs' policies or practices that may be incongruent with policies and practices and recommend practical solutions to management.
  • Reviews requirements, analyzes and prioritizes, making independent adjustments for administrative programs and management functions.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Management Support Officer, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
  • Knowledge of Day-to-Day administration of operations for the Travel, DTS and Government Travel Charge Card Programs, reviewing plans and programs for propriety and feasibility.
  • Knowledge managing financial responsibility for oversight of functions to include budget development, administration and execution. Budgetary duties include preparation of monthly execution reports, analysis and allocation of funds within overall program budget, use and management of the government credit card.
  • Knowledge of organizational management as applied to the management of large, complex organizations, administrative management, organizational routines, administrative theories, principles, applicable policies, and concepts.

A Valid driver's license is required. Failure to have or maintain a valid driver's license could result in removal from the position or in some cases, Federal Service.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
