Description

BlueForce Inc is seeking an experienced Weapons and Tactics Mission Planning Support Specialist in support of the Combat Air Forces (CAF) Fighter Squadron (FS), United States Air Force Warfare Center (USAFWC) flying units, and Air Support Operations Squadrons (ASOS) in Air Combat Command (ACC) in Davis Monthan AFB, AZ.

The Weapons and Tactics Mission Planning Support position will provide Aircrew Briefing Room related duties as well as provide mission planning area related duties traditionally completed by Pilots and Weapons System Officers (WSO's).

Tasks the Contractor shall perform include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide Aircrew Briefing Room related duties as well as provide mission planning area related duties traditionally completed by Pilots and Weapons System Officers (WSO's).
  • Maintain Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) computers with common configurations and provide technical support to enable Warfighter's Edge (WEDGE) functionality; Smart Board connectivity/driver updates in each briefing room; projector connectivity/lamp replacement; and standardized desktop shortcuts.
  • Maintain Debrief computer/network ensuring A-10 video playback from memory devices.
  • Ensure network connection to associated mission debrief peripheral devices.
  • Maintain network file sharing capability on local Network Attached Storage (NAS).
  • Update Personal Computer Debriefing System (PCDS) monthly (drivers/updates), ensure PCDS connectivity capable for 4x Removable Mass Media Device (RMMD) playback simultaneously, configure common PCDS profiles and standardize among briefing rooms, and update map data & overlays for PCDS Time Space Position Information (TSPI) map viewing.
  • Maintain current Joint Mission Planning Software (JMPS) and Unit Planning Cell (UPC) software installed across all home stations and deployable Mission Planning Area computers.
  • Update all other mission planning operating systems and peripheral device drivers as needed.
  • Support program management effort for the acquisition of additional hardware/software and provide squadron leadership and Group Resource Advisor with itemized requirements.
  • Follow directions from Unit Weapons Officer for all other briefing room computer issues.
  • Provide mission planning area related duties as follows:
  • Help maintain 12 Mission Planning Cell (MPC) systems in common configuration through monthly updates to map data, Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED), Digital Vertical Obstruction File (DVOF), and Table Formatted Aeronautical Data Set (TFADS).
  • Ensure connectivity between UPC computers and NAS.
  • Update RMMD monthly. This includes processing and renumbering incoming RMMDs, creating the necessary partitions, loading Operations Group Standards and Evaluations (OGV) specified overlays and map data (as directed, especially for Temporary Duty (TDY) assignments), and ensuring the latest Electronic Chart Updating Manual (eCHUM) files are installed.
  • Troubleshoot RMMD on a weekly basis by performing functionality checks, reformatting those that are non-functional, and submitting all inoperable RMMDs to LRS/SPO.
  • Update Data Transfer Cartridge (DTC) bi-annually and as required for TDY.
  • Ensure correct DTED is loaded for Local Area Flying, or as directed for TDYs.
  • Troubleshoot DTC on a weekly basis by performing functionality checks, reformatting those that are non-functional, and submitting all inoperable DTCs through LRS/SPO.
  • Maintain plotter capability connected to MPC computers and print OGV/FGV directed maps with correct scale/overlays/CHUM.
  • Download DTCs daily and print weapons events by returning flights in preparation for debriefs.
  • Connect RMMDs and set up RMMD debrief session on PCDS in an appropriate debrief room.
  • Capture and provide training videos from RMMDs, as needed by Course Ware Development (CWDs) and WEdge software maintainers.
  • Provide Student Study Area related duties as follows:
  • Maintain student digital devices in a common configuration to include tablets and Virtual Reality (VR) devices as dictated by the 355th Training Squadron (TRS).
  • Maintain connectivity to network shared drive for pubs/academic study materials.
  • Coordinate with CWD contractors to ensure classified courseware is accessible on MPC NIPR and Secure Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) drives.
  • Conduct vault opening or closing procedures as required.


Qualifications

  • Possesses TS clearance with SCI and SAP/SAR eligibility and willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph
  • 2 years of experience with USAF fighter squadron, group, or wing weapons and tactics shop security-related operations (A-10 unit or F-15 unit experience desired) OR 2 years of experience with DoD flying squadron, group, or wing weapons and tactics
  • 2 years of experience with DoD and USAF security guidelines regarding computer and network security up to a TS SAP level.
  • 2 years of experience with current system software supported at the organization to include operating system and application software packages as identified by the Government Site Lead/Point of Contact.
  • Holds current CompTIA Security+ (CE), and DoDM 8140.03 certifications and can transition to DoDM 8140.03 specifications.
  • 2 years of experience using and maintaining computer systems/networks, equipment, and software; and to train users on new computer systems used to support mission debrief.
