Rancher/RKE2 Kubernetes Platform Engineer

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is looking for a Kubernetes Platform Engineer, well-versed in using Kubernetes in a DoD environment. This work is in support of development teams who will be developing and deploying containerized applications on Kubernetes platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assume role as team Subject Matter Expert for Rancher RKE2
• Assist in designing, configuring, and deploying Kubernetes platforms in multiple environments
• Operate and maintain Kubernetes platforms in support of end-user developers
• Assist or assume primary role in deploying new appliances within said Kubernetes platforms
• Produce and/or review documentation related to the platforms
• Work with design team in expanding platform capabilities to support end users

Qualifications

• Secret Clearance
• 10+ years of experience with platform management, DevOps, Cloud, and infrastructure in an industry environment
• 5+ years of experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes
• 5+ years of experience migrating or deploying containerized applications into Kubernetes
• 5+ years of experience configuring networking and ingress, storage, and security in Kubernetes
• 5+ years of experience configuring or integrating logging, monitoring, and metrics capabilities into Kubernetes
• Experience with automation and scripting, including Python, Ansible and bash scripts
• Experience with developing Helm charts and DevOps pipelines in tools such as GitLab CI
• Knowledge of networking concepts and how to troubleshoot issues
• Experience with Rancher RKE2 and Rancher Multi Cluster Manager
• Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Experience working in secure environments
• Experience with automated scripts to install and harden operating systems using Government STIGs

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $155,700.00/Yr. - USD $260,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
