Overview
Nakupuna Federal is seeking an IT Procurement Specialist to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) Custom Training Development and Delivery Support Services. ESI is a strategic sourcing program that helps streamline software and IT acquisitions across the DoD to reduce costs, improve compliance, and enhance procurement efficiency. The IT Procurement Specialist will provide expert advisory support to training development and delivery teams, ensuring procurement-related content is accurate, compliant, and aligned with DoD policies and federal regulations. This position does not perform direct IT procurement functions but serves in an advisory capacity to support training content development and delivery.

Skills/Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience:
Clearance Requirements: No clearance required . Must be a U.S. citizen.
Location: The position is primarily based at Nakupuna facilities in Arlington, VA; however, the candidate is expected to support up to four in-person training events annually in San Diego, CA, or Washington, D.C.

- Advise training developers on IT procurement principles, federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), and DoD policies to ensure compliance.
- Review and validate procurement-related training content for accuracy and alignment with DoD ESI requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and update customized training materials that clearly communicate procurement processes and compliance standards.
- Provide guidance on emerging procurement trends and regulatory changes to keep training content current and relevant.
- Assist in creating supporting resources such as guidance documents and FAQs to clarify procurement concepts for trainees.
- Serve as a subject matter advisor during training sessions to support accurate and policy-compliant messaging.
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of IT procurement processes, federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS), and Department of Defense procurement policies.
- Proven ability to interpret and translate complex procurement regulations into clear, accessible guidance.
- Expertise in reviewing training materials to ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively advise non-procurement personnel and support training development teams.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including trainers, legal counsel, and acquisition specialists.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple advisory tasks independently within deadline-driven environments.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience:
- 0-2 years of experience in procurement, contracting, or administrative support
- Prior experience in IT procurement or a federal contracting environment is preferred but not required
