Overview
VTG is looking for an Engineering Support Specialist in Chantilly VA.
What will you do?
The Engineering Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in facilitating highly attended technical meetings and ensuring seamless coordination. This role is perfect for individuals with strong organizational skills and a proactive approach, keen on becoming a trusted point of contact for technical and programmatic activities. The position involves managing action officer-style tasks and supporting engineering programs, offering exposure to strategic initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and coordinate technical meetings, ensuring all briefers and topics are lined up.
- Manage and track internal and external taskers using enterprise systems (e.g., TIER, Confluence).
- Coordinate responses to engineering-related actions, ensuring accuracy before senior review.
- Draft, edit, and finalize correspondence, reports, and presentations for technical audiences.
- Support engineering documentation efforts, including standardization, safety audits, and specification updates.
- Prepare agendas, take notes, and distribute minutes for meetings.
- Maintain outreach and engagement records, updating Confluence pages and fact sheets.
- Assist with governance processes, continuity of operations (COOP), and strategic planning deliverables.
- Serve as a liaison between engineering teams, program offices, and external stakeholders.
- Monitor progress on assigned actions, generating metrics to demonstrate accountability.
- Facilitate training sessions as necessary.
Do you have what it takes?
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
- 5+ years supporting DoD or IC programs in administrative, technical, or action officer roles.
- Familiarity with systems engineering environments and technical documentation.
- Strong writing and editing skills for executive-level communications.
- Experience with tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across teams.
