MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior SATCOM Field Support Technician to join our team in Doral, FL.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • The Senior SATCOM Field Support Technician responsible for the installation, maintenance, and operational integrity of satellite communication (SATCOM) systems in diverse field environments
  • Possesses s a high level of technical proficiency in SATCOM technologies, coupled with strong administrative and logistical capabilities
  • Leads field support operations, ensuring that SATCOM systems are deployed and maintained to meet operational requirements, including troubleshooting complex technical issues, performing routine maintenance, and managing equipment inventory
  • Coordinates with various stakeholders, including Technical Teams, end users, and management, to ensure seamless communication and effective problem resolution
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records, documenting procedures, and providing training to field personnel
  • Possesses a strong understanding of network protocols, RF theory, and satellite system architecture, with the ability to adapt to changing field conditions and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Provides direction and mentorship to subordinate staff


Minimum Qualifications:
  • HS in field necessary to assume Senior SATCOM Field Support Technician duties and a minimum of 7 years of relevant SATCOM Field Support Technician experience.
  • A candidate holding a relevant Bachelor's degree may be granted 2 years' experience credit for that extra education.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading Field Support Teams. Demonstrated experience with network troubleshooting and RF signal analysis.
  • Relevant certifications related to SATCOM systems and equipment (e.g., specific vendor certifications), CompTIA Network+ or equivalent networking certification, FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) or equivalent, DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification.
  • Experience with military/diplomatic operations working within a J-6/G-6/S-6 Directorate or with Special Operations Forces (SOF) or the Department of State (DoS) facilitating user access to and use of SATCOM systems across multiple commands and agencies.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical training in Electronics Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field. Experience working with military or Government SATCOM systems.
  • Experience with specific satellite modem configurations and maintenance. Experience working in remote or austere environments.
  • Experience with IP networking in a SATCOM environment. Advanced vendor-specific SATCOM certifications. Security+ certification. ITIL Foundation certification. Advanced RF certifications.
  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a current/active Secret clearance.


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in stationary position for up to 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to deliver clear and effective communication verbally and via email, phone, and virtual communication platforms to interface with co-workers and customers.
  • Must be able to occasionally move about inside an office environment to access file cabinets, office machinery, and communicate with co-workers.
