Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a Military Operations Analyst (Level 3) supporting the Doctrine Function contributes to the development, analysis, revision, and integration of military doctrine, concepts, and tactics across multiple warfighting domains including space, missile defense, cyber, and joint operations. This role supports Combatant Commands (CCMDs), service components, and joint doctrine agencies in ensuring doctrinal products remain operationally relevant, strategically aligned, and responsive to emerging threats.
The analyst will support working groups, operational planning teams, and doctrinal review processes, and provide subject matter expertise to guide doctrinal development in accordance with joint and Army doctrine frameworks. The position requires strong analytical, writing, and coordination skills and a solid understanding of multi-domain operations and capability integration.
Skills / Experience Required
* TS/SCI
* 5+ years of experience supporting military operations, doctrine development, or operational planning
* Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating doctrinal publications (e.g., JPs, ATPs, FMs) in coordination with doctrine agencies and command stakeholders
* Conduct gap analyses of existing doctrine, concepts, and TTPs based on operational lessons learned, strategic guidance, and threat assessments
* Translate strategic documents such as the NDS, NSS, and Joint Warfighting Concept into actionable doctrinal content
* Coordinate with Combatant Commands, service components, and interagency partners to ensure doctrine is synchronized across joint and Army communities
* Participate in working groups, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and operational forums to support doctrinal development and integration
* Contribute to doctrine validation efforts through participation in exercises, wargames, and training events
* Prepare briefings, point papers, and reports for senior leadership on doctrinal development efforts and recommendations
* Monitor changes in joint force development, operational concepts, and capability integration to assess doctrinal implications
* Demonstrated experience supporting joint or Army doctrinal processes, including exposure to the Joint Doctrine Development System (JDDS) and Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) series
* Familiarity with operational concepts such as multi-domain operations (MDO), Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2), Space Domain Awareness (SDA), and Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD)
* Understanding of operational-level planning and the integration of capabilities into doctrinal frameworks
* Experience coordinating with stakeholders across Combatant Commands, doctrine agencies, and service components
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; able to synthesize complex information into doctrinal recommendations
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare and deliver clear, concise doctrinal content
* Ability to work independently in classified environments and adapt to shifting priorities.
* Prior support to USSPACECOM, USASMDC, STRATCOM, or JFCC IMD
* Experience contributing to joint or Army doctrinal publications (e.g., JP 3-14, FM 3-0, ATP 3-27 series)
* Operational or exercise experience in space, missile defense, or cyber environments
* Participation in planning teams, working groups, or exercise design forums
Education / Certifications
* Bachelor's degree in National Security Studies, Military Studies, Strategic Studies, International Relations, or a related field
* Master's degree preferred (may be substituted with additional relevant military operational or doctrinal experience
* Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I or II
* Completion of Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) or equivalent
* DoD or DAU coursework in Joint Doctrine, Capabilities-Based Planning, or Force Development
