Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and confident Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to join our team in support of the T-7A Red Hawk flight test program. This position focuses on flight control system support during flight test operations, playing a critical role in the test control room and directly influencing flight safety and mission success.
This is a high-impact, hands-on engineering role ideal for someone with strong technical judgment, real-time decision-making skills, and prior flight test experience on tactical aircraft platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a flight control subject matter expert during test flights.
Monitor and interpret real-time and post-flight data related to flight control systems.
Make critical, on-the-spot technical calls during flight tests, including test aborts if anomalies arise.
Participate in pre- and post-flight briefings to assess risk, performance, and readiness.
Perform post-flight data analysis, ensuring quality data with no system overlays or anomalies.
Collaborate closely with control room teams, flight test engineers, and program stakeholders across locations.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in flight control systems engineering, including support during flight test operations.
Demonstrated experience with tactical aircraft platforms preferred.
Strong technical decision-making ability in real-time/high-stakes test environments.
Solid understanding of GNC principles and system-level integration.
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as MATLAB/Simulink (or similar environments).
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Must possess an active Secret clearance.
Preferred Skills:
Experience supporting military flight test programs.
Familiarity with control room operations and cross-functional flight test collaboration.
Effective communicator who can raise safety and system concerns confidently in dynamic environments.
