Duties
As a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK), GS-2210-12, as Superintendent of a Cyberspace Security and Control System a weapon system squadron, you will supervise the Commander's Support Staff, Training, System Administration, Data Management ,and Internet. You will establishe, advise, and consult on production and quality requirements, mission objectives, equipment, and other logistics needs, to ensure requirements satisfy the NGB. Manage oversight of programs used to monitor and eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse in the ANG portion of AFNET. Support internal and external audit programs within the NOS. Coordinate communication activities and projects with concerned local agencies and other DoD agencies and/or organization such as the National Guard Bureau, ANG Major Command Coordination Center, ANG Regional Operations and Security Centers (ROSCs), and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE : All series personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level and must have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level. To qualify for the position, you must have the following competencies, experiences and skills.
Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately;
Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate difficult and complex programs;
Ability to develop, apply, and adjust cyber program plans to attain agency objectives;
Ability to select, develop, and supervise a subordinate staff;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, not only with subordinate staff, but with all levels of key management officials, the latter particularly requiring the exercise of tact, ingenuity, and resourcefulness;
Ability to make oral and written presentations in a clear and concise manner;
Ability to apply a high level of sound and independent judgment in the solution of cyber program problems and cyber mission requirements; A broad knowledge of and ability to utilize principles, methods, techniques, and systems;
Ability to write proper English in reports and presentation formats;
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; Skilled in training, mentoring, and problem solving; and,
Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Musthave experience in supervising, leading, mentoring and/or training the duties and mission requirements that ensured unit readiness for the Cyber Protection Team (CPT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) defense operations for the Department of Defense (DoD) worldwide. Experiences included the analysis, management, and administration of personnel development and utilization programs within the Cyber Operations Squadron, to include weapon system equipment readiness reporting and collaborating with higher headquarters and other Cyberspace Operations units, groups, and wings.
Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140, DOD 8570.01M or applicable governing document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IA Management Level II within 6 months of employment pending training seat availability.
Position is designated as OM-STS-001 within the Defense Cybersecurity Workforce as guided by NIST SP 800-181; National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education, Cybersecurity Workforce Framework. Applicants must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance and Information Assurance Management Program Certification Level Technical Level II (IAT II) to qualify for considerations to hire, promote, or reassign.
Prior to appointment, the incumbent must be certified IAW DOD 8570.01-M, Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002, Clinger Cohen Act of 1996 and obtain Special Experience Identifier (SEI) 264, Information Assurance - Technical Level II (IAT II), IAW current AF directives
Physical Demands: Work is sedentary. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical office setting. Special safety precautions are not required.

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
If you are using Education to qualify for this position, At the GS-11 level, a Ph.D. or equivalent, or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

- KANSAS AIR NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
