Amentum has a future opportunity for a Technical and Scientific Engineer to support a Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems program at Redstone Arsenal near Huntsville, AL.
The Technical and Scientific Engineer must possess a robust combination of technical skills, experience, and qualifications to effectively support the diverse and complex tasks required by the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Program. Their role is pivotal in ensuring the technical integrity and operational success of the C-UAS initiatives.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide operational, technical, and scientific support to PEO Missiles and Space (M&S), Deputy for Acquisition and System Management (DASM), and other program offices and stakeholders.
- Assist in systems integration and interface development to ensure operational readiness and effectiveness of C-UAS systems.
- Conduct technical assessments and analyses to support the evaluation and enhancement of C-UAS systems.
- Provide scientific and technical expertise across various domains that influence C-UAS effectiveness and operations.
- Develop and review technical documentation, specifications, and system architectures to ensure technical soundness and compliance with requirements.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including the Fire Center of Excellence, other PEO M&S program offices, and other partners, to ensure alignment and integrated support.
- Participate in technical reviews, meetings, and discussions, providing expert advice and input on scientific and technical matters.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, briefings, and reports to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in C-UAS technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in C-UAS systems and processes, and propose solutions to enhance system performance and effectiveness.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance with SCI eligibility. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field is required. An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical and scientific roles, preferably within the defense or aerospace sectors.
- Extensive experience in systems integration, systems engineering, or a related field, particularly in areas relevant to Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS).
- Demonstrated ability to work on complex technical projects, providing scientific and technical support to various stakeholders.
- Pentagon experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong background in technical and operational aspects of C-UAS systems, including sensors, weapon systems, command and control systems, and integration and interoperability of subsystems
- Expertise in conducting technical assessments, analyzing system performance, and providing recommendations for system enhancements
- Experience with modeling and simulation, requirements analysis, concept development, and system effectiveness analysis.
