The wage range listed represents the potential compensation opportunities for this position. Starting salary will be thoughtfully determined by the hiring manager based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, education, relevant skills, and qualifications brought to the role. This is a hybrid onsite/remote opportunity where you will report to the customer's location in Washington, DC and have the flexibility to work from home based on business needs.

As Software QA Engineer III, you will lead comprehensive quality assurance and testing activities for complex federal software systems, implementing wholistic QA/QC programs through CI/CD pipelines. This senior-level position focuses on building and growing test automation frameworks to support frequent application releases while ensuring delivery of high-quality, production-ready functionality with minimal user disruption. An average day:
As Software QA Engineer III, you will lead comprehensive quality assurance and testing activities for complex federal software systems, implementing wholistic QA/QC programs through CI/CD pipelines. This senior-level position focuses on building and growing test automation frameworks to support frequent application releases while ensuring delivery of high-quality, production-ready functionality with minimal user disruption. In this position you will:
- Execute comprehensive testing activities in accordance with DHS SELC guidelines for Agile development, industry best practices, and Agile methodology to ensure system quality and compliance
- Design and implement advanced test automation solutions for all testing activities using appropriate automation tools to enable DevSecOps implementation across development lifecycles
- Lead test coverage initiatives including functional, progression, regression, performance, security, integration, and Section 508 compliance testing through CI/CD pipeline integration
- Demonstrate system resilience and performance capabilities to meet or exceed transaction response requirements and Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) as specified in operational requirements
- Implement and maintain defect and resolution tracking mechanisms within testing infrastructure for issues identified during comprehensive test activities and production deployments
- Track and analyze code quality metrics for released user stories including trends of errors from development to production throughout the code's lifetime
- Develop and implement comprehensive Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans (QA/QCP) that identify clear end-to-end test strategies across all system environments supporting sustainment and future development
- Support third-party testing activities including customer User Acceptance Testing (UAT), independent verification and validation (IV&V), and federal agency audits
- Utilize Test-Driven Development methodology to ensure software requirements are converted to test cases before software development and track development through repeated testing against all cases
- Lead QA/QC metrics collection initiatives that capture baseline and trend analyses of quality progress while maintaining escaped defect tracking into integration and production environments

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in software quality assurance, testing methodologies, and quality control in enterprise environments, demonstrating leadership, knowledge, and expertise
- Experience serving in a leadership role on innovative cloud and/or software development programs for federal agencies with complex system requirements
- Hands-on experience implementing DevSecOps practices including automated testing integration, continuous monitoring, and security testing within development pipelines
- Industry certifications such as CSQA (Certified Software Quality Analyst), International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) certifications, or DHS Trusted Tester certification
- Proficiency with test automation frameworks and tools including Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JMeter, Katalon Studio, and CI/CD orchestration platforms
- Experience with Agile testing methodologies, SAFe framework implementation, and sprint-based development cycles in federal contracting environments
- Knowledge of cloud-based testing environments, Google Cloud Platform services, and containerized application testing using tools like Jenkins and Harness
- Expertise in performance and stress testing tools, security testing methodologies, and Section 508 accessibility compliance testing requirements
- Prior experience and knowledge of federal technical environments and interrelated technical environments preferred
- Prior experience and knowledge of FEMA's technical environment and interrelated technical environments preferred
- Current Public Trust High required or ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. ( This is a federal contract position and requires candidates to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust. Adjudication of the required Security Clearance or Public Trust is determined solely by the government. If the government determines that the candidate cannot obtain and/or maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust, Epsilon will be unable to place the candidate in this position.)
