This position is for the Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) program, one of Lockheed Martin's best-in-class Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity and reliability.

We are looking for a dependable associate manager to join our tight-knit group This position is for a Multifunctional Associate Engineering Manager in the Post Boost Control System (PBCS) IPT that both collaborates well in a team environment and has excellent communication skills. In this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the PBCS IPT with our Navy partner, LM leadership, and suppliers, with many opportunities for career development along the way. The PBCS IPT is responsible for the development, manufacture, and management of the PBCS which is an attitude control and propulsive subsystem.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead our PBCS team as we prepare for SRR of the PBCS and then continue to PDR. Specifically, you will be responsible for leading the PBCS team responsible for the cost and schedule of the on-contract scope, proposals, and the long-range plan for the PBCS subsystem. You will directly manage a team of 7 while also being the team lead for 11 ensuring the broader PBCS team follows best practices as it relates to CAM functions. Further as the Associate manager you will represent PBCS in customer and senior leadership meetings related to the responsibilities above.

The successful candidate will be a full spectrum leader, build lasting partnerships with our Navy counterparts, focus on financial and strategic objectives, and work closely with a range of other leaders on FBM. The candidate will be expected to aid in the hiring process as the team grows in lead up to SRR and PDR. As the team grows it will also be critical to build a team culture as this will be a new team and the successful candidate will be key in developing this new culture.

Basic Qualifications:
- Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education
-Experience in project management
-Demonstrated team leadership or prior management experience
- Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Top Secret clearance; US Citizenship required
Desired Skills:
- Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience
- Experience with FBM processes and products
- Experience with systems engineering, specifically requirements decomposition
- Experience in early engineering development (SRR/PDR phase)
- Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very sophisticated problems and implement constructive change
-Experience in EVM
- Experience throughout the engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test, and operational deployment)
- Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts
- Experience in areas of cost analysis, schedule, and risk & opportunity management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated leadership and initiative

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
