Duties

The purpose of this position is to maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, modify, and inspect heavy mobile equipment, various support equipment, and special purpose vehicles such as; fuel dispensing trucks, refueling equipment, crash/structural firefighting equipment and pump trucks, forklifts, materiel handling, aircraft cargo loaders, aircraft and equipment tow tractors, large runway snow removal vehicles, aircraft de-icing equipment, sweepers, bulldozers, mobile cranes, road graders, heavy construction and earth moving vehicles, backhoes, front end loaders, excavators, trenchers, and tactical/armored protected vehicles. The equipment may be commercial, or military designed with diesel, gasoline, electric, hybrid electric, or other alternative fuel power and may have multiple engines.

(1) Repairs, adjust, overhauls, performs major repairs, and maintenance on military and commercial designed heavy mobile equipment and special purpose vehicles.
(2) Performs body repair and corrosion control, refinishes and repaints surfaces as required.
(3) Prepares, maintains and submits applicable maintenance work orders for man-hour and data collection accounting, to include completing forms to reflect work performed or delayed and parts and maintenance required.
(4) Participates as OJT Instructor in the vehicle maintenance area. Conducts instructional classes on methods and procedures of operation and maintenance concerning all aspects of vehicle repairs and assigned shop maintenance support equipment.
(5) Assists in conducting the local occupational safety and health training program, to include compliance with directives and procedures for proper disposal of hazardous waste products within the functional area.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Open to current or prior service active duty, reserve or national guard members of one of the branches of the US Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, or Coast Guard,
Military members: Submit vMPF Rip, DVR, STP, ERS, MBS, or PDR with resume.
Prior service members: Submit a DD Form 214.
Must become a member of the Wyoming Air National Guard before appt.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses.

Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) and TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS).

Indefinite employees may be terminated or displaced at management's discretion with a 30-day written notice.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:
Referrals of qualified applicants will be issued as follows:

Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153 LRS.
Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard.
Area 6: Current and prior service military members separated from any branch of the military to include US Air Force, US Army, US Navy, US Marine Corps, US Coast Guard, Reserves, and National Guard components. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to make repairs or the ability to assist with repairs that can be accomplished by removing, adjusting, or replacing defective or worn parts.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess experience or training leading to a thorough knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of mechanical systems. Knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls. Basic knowledge of electronics, sufficient to identify and replace defective components, such as sensors, diodes, and circuit boards. Ability to repair or overhaul major components such as diesel, multi-fuel or gasoline engines, turbine engines, automatic and manual transmissions, drive line assemblies, electrical and electronic systems and accessories, fuel injection systems, and emission control systems.

NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS:
Must possess or be eligible to retrain into AFSC 23TX1, Mission Generation Vehicular Equipment Maintenance.

Enlisted 2T3X7 ASVAB Requirements:
Must possess a minimum score of "47" on the Mechanical portion of the ASVAB.
Medical Profile PULHES must not be greater than 333233.
Must be able to lift 60 lbs. unassisted.

DRIVER'S LICENSE:
Must possess a valid driver's license.

TENURE: GROUP III - INDEFINITE
Purpose: To fill a position that may last for more than 1 year where the need for an employee's services is not permanent or management expects the position to potentially become permanent (career or career-conditional) at some time in the future, but usually for a period not more than five years.
