Job Description Summary:
The Senior Cost Estimating Analyst will support estimating and pricing activities. This role reports into the Estimating and Pricing lead, and also supports the proposal team. The responsibilities include understanding the customer solicitation, providing estimating leadership, guidance to the proposal team on the required estimates, and is able to provide guidance for estimating labor, material, and travel, to accurately cost and price that solicitation, and supporting the proposal team through the management review process. This position will work closely with the various functional teams such as Engineering, Procurement, Program Management and Contracts.
Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
• Reviewing and costing up estimates provided by the proposal team and identified BOE preparers
• Evaluating Bill of Materials (BOMs), work with the proposal team to ensure quotes are current accurate and complete
• Supporting the development, consolidation, and pressure-testing of the basis of estimate (BoE) for all elements of cost (with focus on Material) for accuracy and completeness
• Supporting other cost estimating deliverables as needed, such as generating detailed cost volumes, financial analyses, and ad hoc support
• Leading the collection and accumulation of proposal inputs from cross-functional stakeholders
• Researching and analyzing historical data, and developing cost models to support proposal efforts and determine the of accuracy of functional material estimates
• Assessing estimating techniques and historical cost actuals documentation
• Consolidating cost estimates in pricing tool / ERP system
• Supporting the internal proposal review and approval process, which includes developing presentations for senior leadership
• As required, supporting requests for information (RFI), related audit requests, fact-finding, compliance, submission, updates / revisions, and negotiations
Skills/Abilities
• Able to communicate and work effectively as part of matrix organization
• Able to present complex information to all levels of management
• Strong knowledge of relevant federal acquisition regulations and standards such as CAS/FAR/DFARS
• Proficient with Microsoft software, including advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
• Detail oriented with the ability to ensure tasks are completed on time and accurately
• Strong analytical ability and proven ability to think strategically
• Ability to embrace and drive organizational change
• Proficient in handling multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Self-starter that is capable of working independently and in a team environment
Education:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related discipline required
Experience:
5 - 7 years of experience work in cost estimation required
Additional Job Description:
The position will have a special focus on Production and Material.
