Duties

  • You will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and executing logistics management requirements to create and establish aviation integration supportability policies and procedures for major aviation systems.
  • You will review plans and products to ensure that they meet air weapons system acquisition program needs.
  • You will manage assigned program requirements, objectives, and metrics, while resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources.
  • You will identify opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices by utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities.
  • You will participate in advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command in support of agency goals and objectives.
  • You will develop and deliver presentations on Logistics Management and Maintenance Planning program status, accomplishments, and progress.
  • You will be responsible for coordinating and assigning work assignments to subordinates, based on organizational priorities, selective consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments, and capabilities of employees.
  • You will function as a logistics technical advisor to internal and external contacts on assigned programs.
  • You will supervise and perform official supervisory responsibilities for assigned subordinates.
  • You will accomplish other duties as assigned.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position is a designated Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). You must sign a three-year tenure agreement prior to assuming the position unless a tenure waiver is approved.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Travel is required at a rate of approximately 20% for this position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist experience equivalent to the next lower pay band (NM-03) or grade level (GS-9-12) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Planning, analyzing, and executing logistics management requirements to create and establish aviation integration supportability policies and procedures for major aviation systems; 2) Reviewing plans and products to ensure that they meet air weapons system acquisition program needs; 3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives, and metrics, while resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources; 4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices by utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; 5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command; 6) Developing and delivering presentations on Logistics Management and Maintenance Planning program status, accomplishments and progress; 7) Coordinating and assigning work assignments to subordinates, based on organizational priorities, selective consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments, and capabilities of employees; 8) Functioning as a logistics technical advisor to internal and external contacts on assigned programs; and 9) Supervising and performing official supervisory responsibilities for assigned subordinates.
