Senior Network/System Technician – Leidos | Reston, VA (Relocating to Fort Belvoir, VA)
Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Network/System Technician to support enterprise-wide monitoring operations for a high-profile Department of Defense contract under the I3TS program. This program provides advanced IT services to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), supporting both domestic and international environments.
Location:
- Initially based in Reston, VA
- Relocation to Fort Belvoir, VA expected by end of year
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and manage network, server, and storage infrastructure across Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret networks
- Install security patches and communicate system health status to management
- Ensure continuous access, reliability, and secure availability of DTRA IT services
- Utilize monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk, or similar
- Apply technical knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and related protocols
Security and Clearance Requirements
- Security+ or equivalent certification required prior to start
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required at time of consideration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years or Master’s degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience in network operations, help desk, or IT support
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to perform in high-availability, fast-paced environments
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail
Work Schedule
- Day shifts (0600 to 1800)
- First half: Sunday through Wednesday
- Second half: Wednesday through Saturday (alternating Wednesdays)
- One lower-priority opening for swing shift (afternoons/evenings) during Sunday through Wednesday
