Koniag Emerging Technology, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist with an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility to support KET and our government customer in Adelphi, MD.

Koniag Enterprise Technology (KET) is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to be responsible for performing electronic and communications engineering responsibilities for the customer. This position requires active Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and growth opportunities within our organization.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Build and assemble electrical and electronic component prototypes and systems using engineering drawings and schematics, drawings data, and knowledge of electronic principles, instruments, and tools
  • Build and/or modify prototypes, parts, assemblies, cables, wiring, or electromechanical systems using basic hand tools and/or fixtures
  • Conduct circuit construction to include through-hole, surface mount, and freeform techniques
  • Perform testing to the component level with basic tools such as meters, analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment
  • Perform component identification, selection, and implementation
  • Prepare and build CAT 5e, Coax, D-Subminiature and Military Style data cables
  • Perform schematic entry and printed circuit board layout, primarily using Altium design software
  • Configure and maintain RF Military Line of Site communications systems
  • Set up and maintain standard UHF Military Line of Site and Satellite communications and Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET) radio communications
  • Support Cisco network architectures and operations, including but not limited to Routers, Switches, VLANs, and Routing Protocols as required
  • Support Special Operations Missions, Tactics, and Capabilities to meet customer requirements
  • Assist in developing solutions and recommendations for existing, emerging, and future technologies
  • Contribute to team efforts in completing telecommunications projects on time and within specifications


Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • 2+ years of experience in telecommunications, electronics, or related field
  • Experience with electronic component assembly and prototype building
  • Familiarity with circuit construction and testing
  • Experience with cable construction and installation


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Ability to build and assemble electronic components and prototypes using engineering drawings and schematics
  • Proficiency with basic hand tools and fixtures for building/modifying prototypes, parts, assemblies, and cables
  • Experience with through-hole, surface mount, and freeform circuit construction
  • Ability to perform component-level testing using meters, analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment
  • Skills in component identification, selection, and implementation
  • Experience constructing various types of cables including CAT 5e, Coax, D-Subminiature, and Military Style
  • Knowledge of schematic entry and printed circuit board layout, specifically with Altium software
  • Understanding of RF Military Line of Sight communications
  • Familiarity with UHF Military Line of Sight, Satellite communications, and MANET radio communications
  • Basic knowledge of Cisco network architectures, including routers, switches, VLANs, and routing protocols
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work on sensitive projects
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
