Koniag Enterprise Technology (KET) is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to join our team supporting an Army customer. This senior-level position will focus on providing electrical engineering expertise for the Agency's Telecommunications Network and Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems. The successful candidate will develop and analyze electrical systems, conduct design reviews, perform site surveys, and support the implementation of advanced communications technologies. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance with Special Security Background Investigation (SSBI) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility. The Electrical Engineer III will be responsible for providing comprehensive electrical engineering support for the customer's telecommunications infrastructure and SATCOM systems. Principal responsibilities include:
- Provide electrical engineering support to analyze and improve the current and future electrical state of the Agency's Telecommunications Network
- Develop and analyze drawings and specifications for electrical systems supporting telecommunications infrastructure
- Prepare detailed bill of materials for electrical engineering projects
- Provide technical expertise to support infrastructure changes that require improvisation, ingenuity, and high-degree technical judgment
- Conduct design reviews of construction drawings and specifications for electrical systems
- Perform detailed analyses of electrical infrastructure supporting telecommunications systems and provide recommendations to the COR
- Conduct site surveys, performance monitoring, product reviews, design reviews, inspections, and acceptance as required
- Assess and evaluate electrical items for possible malfunction, failure, modification, or the need for redundant/additional backup power
- Provide SATCOM Systems Engineering expertise to support analysis, design documentation, and implementation
- Review emerging technologies for suitability to agency missions and requirements
- Support systems utilizing various satellite communications frequency band constellations, group entry points systems, broadband global area network systems, and other satellite systems
- Coordinate with government elements and external organizations to assess and adjust stakeholder requirements
- Support integration of new systems with existing infrastructure
- Build and assemble electrical and electronic component prototypes and systems
- Develop schematics, engineering drawings, material bills, and build lists
- Operate standard and advanced electrical test and analysis equipment
- Build/modify prototypes, parts, assemblies, cables, wiring, and electromechanical systems
- Perform circuit construction including through-hole, surface mount, and freeform techniques
- Conduct component-level testing using meters, analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment
- Lead component identification, selection, implementation, and printed circuit board layout
Education and Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with focus on telecommunications or satellite communications systems
- Active Top Secret clearance with SSBI and SCI eligibility
- Experience with telecommunications infrastructure and electrical systems design
- Demonstrated experience with SATCOM systems engineering
- Experience with circuit design, component selection, and PCB layout

- Ability to conduct thorough design reviews and provide meaningful recommendations
- Experience conducting site surveys and performance monitoring of electrical systems
- Knowledge of backup power systems and redundancy requirements
- SATCOM systems engineering expertise
- Understanding of satellite communications frequency bands and constellations
- Experience with broadband global area network systems
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and organizations
- Proficiency in schematic capture and development of engineering drawings
- Experience with electrical test and analysis equipment
- Skilled in building and modifying prototypes and assemblies
- Proficiency in multiple circuit construction techniques (through hole, surface mount, freeform)
- Component-level testing and troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong knowledge of component identification, selection, and implementation
- Experience with printed circuit board layout
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work on sensitive projects
Desired Skills and Competencies:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Experience working in defense or intelligence communities
- Knowledge of Army operations and procedures
- Experience with systems operating in austere environments
- Certifications in specialized electrical engineering disciplines
- Experience with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design and testing
- Knowledge of military standards for electrical systems and components
- Experience with power distribution systems
- Familiarity with RF engineering principles and practices
- Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design software
- Knowledge of quality control and reliability engineering
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
- Project management experience for electrical engineering projects
- Experience with integration of communications systems
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in telecommunications and SATCOM
